A curious contemporary imitation

Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Billon, 19 mm, 5.36 g, 3 h), a contemporary imitation from an irregular mint, C. Antistius Reginus, after 13 BC. CAESAR AVGVSTVS Bare head of Augustus to right. Rev. C ANTISTIVS REGINVS / III VIR Sacrificial implements: simpulum, lituus, tripod and patera. Cf. BMC 119, Cohen 347 and RIC 410 (for prototype). An interesting contemporary billon imitation, struck on a severely overweight flan. Very fine.
